Appointments

Urgent medical problems will always be seen on the day of request.

Consultations are by appointments. A standard Consultation is 10 minutes and a long consultation is 20 minutes. Walk-in patients will be accepted and allocated a time depending upon the availability of a Doctor.

To enable us to have more control over your waiting times, please advise the staff if:

  • Your consultation is for a small procedure e.g. removal of skin lesions, pap smear;
  • Payment can be made by:
Cash, EFTPOS or major credit cards.
  • More than one family member is attending.
  • We also appreciate notice of a cancellation.
  • Telehealth appointments are available at this medical centre. For more information, please call our reception team on 07 334458 08

Ways for us to help you

  • Make a list of your health problems and medications before you come in to see the doctor so nothing is left out. We know your time is precious and want to get it right the first time.
  • Make appointments so that we don’t keep you waiting. If we get behind it is usually because someone has not made an appointment of appropriate duration for their problem or that emergencies have tied us up.
  • Make sure we have your current phone number and address to that we can contact you if we need to.

Procedures

The practice has a fully equipped Treatment Room and nurse. Our doctor can perform many minor surgical procedures on the premises if required (e.g. removal of moles or skin lesions, treatment of simple fractures). Cryotherapy (for skin cancers and warts etc.), nebuliser, pap smears and all resuscitation equipment is available. A longer appointment time may be required for some procedures so please inform the receptionist.

Test Results

Please note patients are required to phone to book an appointment for review if their test results are back. Most test results should be back within 3 days. We do not give results over the phone.

Telephoning your doctor

Although most problems are best dealt with in consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice.

All our friendly staff are experienced in helping you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return phone call from the practice, or urgent advice can also be given by the practice nurse.

Sterilisation

All reusable instruments used for procedures are sterilised in an autoclave under high temperature and pressure conditions to meet the Australian Safety Standards. Disposable equipment may be used in many instances to ensure patients safety.

Repeat prescriptions & renewed referrals

Repeat scripts and ongoing referrals without consultation, will be at the doctor’s discretion. If you have not recently attended the Practice, an appointment to see a doctor will be required.

Transfer of medical records

This practice will provide upon receipt of a formal request from your new Doctor, a copy or summary of your medical file. If the file is large there may be a fee incurred for administration and postage.
